Quad bikes can be an amazing source of adventure for children, offering outdoor fun, a sense of responsibility and real motor skills. But when a parent starts shopping for their child’s quad, one of the most common questions is: Should I choose an electric quad bike or a petrol one? What Are Kid’s Electric Quad Bikes?

Kid’s electric quad bikes run on rechargeable battery systems, most commonly 24 V or 36 V, and are designed for smooth, predictable power delivery. Their simple twist-and-go operation makes them far easier for beginners to learn on, since there are no gears, clutches or engine warm-up times to manage. The instant torque of electric motors also helps younger riders feel more in control, as the bike responds quickly without sudden surges.

A key advantage of electric quads is their low noise output. Typical models operate between 60 and 70 decibels, which is quieter than most children’s petrol quads that can reach 90 dB or more. For families living in residential areas, or those who want a bike suitable for gardens or shared outdoor spaces, this quieter operation can make electric models the more considerate choice.

Electric quad bikes also produce zero tailpipe emissions, making them appealing for parents who prioritise a cleaner riding experience. They require less day-to-day maintenance as well, since there are no spark plugs, fuel filters or carburettors involved.

The main limitation is battery capacity. Most children’s electric quads offer around 20 to 40 miles per charge, with performance influenced by terrain, riding speed and rider weight. Charging typically takes several hours, and battery packs can require replacement over the long term, which is important to factor into ongoing ownership.

What Are Kids’ Petrol Quad Bikes?

Kids’ petrol quad bikes use small combustion engines, generally between 49 cc and 125 cc. These engines provide stronger overall performance and longer riding sessions without interruption. Because petrol engines deliver power through traditional rev and throttle control, they can feel more familiar to families who already use motorbikes or ATVs.

One of the biggest advantages of petrol quads is endurance. A full tank can last for extended periods, and refuelling takes only moments. This makes petrol quad bikes an excellent choice for riders who use larger outdoor areas, trails or off road spaces where continuous riding is part of the experience. They also offer higher top speeds and greater torque at pace, often preferred by confident or older children who are ready for a more advanced machine.

Petrol quad bikes are generally louder, often reaching 90 decibels or more, and produce emissions, which can make them less suitable for residential settings. They also require more frequent maintenance, including spark plug care, engine oil changes and general fuel system checks.

While petrol models offer higher performance, they typically suit children who already have some riding experience or who are ready to move beyond beginner level.

Electric VS Petrol: Key Differences Parents Should Know

Choosing between electric and petrol quad bikes often comes down to understanding how each performs in real life. Both types offer distinct advantages, but the best choice depends on where a child will ride, how experienced they are and how much ongoing maintenance the family prefers to take on.

Power Delivery

Electric quad bikes deliver smooth, instant torque that makes low speed control easy. Petrol quad bikes build power through engine revs, which can feel more engaging for confident riders.

Noise Levels

Electric quads are significantly quieter, making them ideal for gardens or family friendly spaces. Petrol quads are louder and better suited to open tracks or private land.

Running Time

Electric models operate for a fixed period based on battery charge. Petrol models can run for several hours with quick refuelling, which suits longer riding sessions.

Maintenance

Electric quads require very little routine maintenance, while petrol quads need regular checks and servicing to keep the engine performing well.

Environment

Electric quad bikes produce no tailpipe emissions, while petrol models create exhaust fumes. Some parents may prefer the cleaner operation of electric options.

When Electric Quad Bikes Are The Better Choice

Electric quad bikes are generally the best option for younger riders, beginners or children who will mainly ride at home. Their quiet operation and smooth power delivery make them easier to handle and more suitable for residential environments.

They are also ideal for families who prefer low maintenance ownership and predictable operating costs. Parents who value environmentally friendly riding often choose electric models as their first quad bike option.

When Petrol Quad Bikes Are The Better Choice

Petrol quad bikes are best suited to confident riders, older children or those who ride regularly on larger outdoor areas such as fields, farms or off road tracks. Their strong performance and long running times make them ideal for more adventurous riding.

Families who already own petrol powered equipment or who enjoy motorsports often prefer petrol quads for their traditional feel and higher power potential.

Professional Insight: What Experienced Riders Recommend

Experienced quad bike riders often suggest starting children on an electric quad bike, especially if they are new to riding. The quiet operation, simple controls and predictable response make it easier for young riders to learn safely and enjoyably.

As children grow more confident, or if they begin riding in larger open spaces, a petrol quad bike can be an excellent next step. The added power and extended range can support their developing skills and introduce them to more advanced riding techniques.

Professionals consistently highlight the importance of matching the quad bike to the rider’s age, confidence and environment rather than choosing based purely on power.

Special Situations: When A Hybrid Approach Works Best

Some families find that owning one of each type can be useful in specific situations. An electric quad bike can be ideal for weekday practice or riding at home, while a petrol quad bike may suit weekends on larger land or dedicated off road venues.

This approach is not necessary for most families, but for those who ride frequently in different environments, combining both types can provide flexibility and variety.

Final Recommendations: Which Quad Bike Should You Choose

Electric quad bikes are usually the best choice for younger or beginner riders, residential areas and families who want a low maintenance and environmentally friendly option. They offer quiet, smooth and predictable performance that supports learning and confidence building.

Petrol quad bikes are better suited to experienced or older riders, larger outdoor spaces and families who value stronger power and long running times. They require more maintenance but offer a more traditional riding experience.

Both can be excellent choices when matched to the child’s needs, environment and riding goals.

Kid’s Quad Biking Safety Tips

Is your kid a quad biking beginner, or are they ready to dive into this thrilling hobby, but you’re concerned about safety? You’re not alone. Quad bikes offer an exciting blend of speed, adventure, and outdoor exploration. From tackling dirt bike tracks to exploring off-road trails, kids quad bikes give young adventurers a sense of independence and confidence.

However, like any motorsport, quad biking carries risks. Following quad bike safety rules, using the proper safety gear and safety equipment, and providing supervised riding are essential to protect your child from head injuries, scrapes, and other accidents.

This guide is designed to help parents:

  • Choose the right protective clothing, helmets, elbow pads, and knee pads
  • Understand essential safety tips and quad bike safety rules
  • Teach habits that make every ride both fun and secure

By following these practices, families can enjoy quad biking, off-road use, and even electric quads safely.

At Riders & Rollers, we offer a full range of quad biking safety gear, from Revvi and Wulfsport Cub helmets to race shirts, race pants, goggles, and gloves. Every item is designed to meet high safety features standards while allowing freedom of movement when quad biking.Explore our quad biking safety gear today →

Essential Safety Gear for Kids’ Quad Biking

When it comes to kids quad bikes, safety isn’t optional. The right safety equipment protects young riders from quad bike incidents, scrapes, bumps, and more serious injuries. Helmets, gloves, goggles, and protective clothing are all part of creating a safe off-road experience.

Helmet – The Most Important Piece of Gear

A DOT-approved helmet is essential for protecting young riders from head injuries and ensuring overall kids’ quad bike safety. When choosing a helmet, consider the following:

  • Proper Fit – Should sit snugly on the head without shifting during the ride.
  • Certification – Must meet recognised quad bike safety standards for reliable protection.
  • Ventilation – Adequate airflow keeps riders cool and comfortable on long rides.
  • Lightweight Design – Minimises fatigue while maintaining maximum protection.

Wearing the right helmet is the foundation of safe quad biking and should never be optional for young riders. For a range of high-quality helmets, check out our premium Kids Helmets collection at Riders & Rollers in vibrant colours like red, blue, green, pink, black, and yellow.

Goggles for Eye Protection

Eyes can be easily exposed to dust, debris, insects, and off-road hazards when riding quad bikes, making clear vision and protection essential for young riders. Choose goggles designed with anti-fog lenses, shatterproof materials, and a secure adjustable strap to ensure comfort and safety even during longer rides or high-speed terrain. Ventilated designs help prevent fogging and overheating.

The Wulfsport Kids Cub Motocross Goggles – Blue deliver a top-tier combination of safety, comfort, and style for young quad bikers.

Gloves for Secure Grip

Gloves aren’t just an accessory; they’re essential for maintaining control on the handlebars and protecting hands from blisters, scratches, and minor injuries during quad biking. Look for gloves made from durable materials, with padded palms, flexible fingers, and reinforced stitching.

We recommend the Wulfsport Kids Stratos Gloves – Black, which combine comfort, protection, and a secure grip, helping young riders maintain control while navigating off-road trails or dirt tracks.

Protective Clothing & Armour

Proper clothing and protective armour are critical to reducing injuries while riding. Long-sleeved t-shirts, race shirts, trousers, elbow pads, knee pads, and body armour shield against scrapes, bruises, and falls. Lightweight, breathable fabrics allow freedom of movement while providing essential protection.

Preparing for a Safe Quad Biking Ride

Before every ride, it’s important to make sure your child’s quad bike is fully prepared and safe to use. Taking just a few minutes to go through this checklist can prevent accidents and keep every adventure worry-free:

  • Check Tyre Pressure and Brakes: Proper tyre pressure ensures stability and smooth handling, especially on uneven or off-road terrain. Test the brakes for responsiveness and inspect for any wear on the pads or cables.
Inspect Key Mechanical Components: Take a quick look at the suspension system, chain or motor connections, and steering alignment. For electric quads, check that the battery terminals and wiring are secure.
  • Recharge the Battery Safely (for Electric Quad Bikes): Always charge the battery in a dry, ventilated area after it has cooled down. Follow the manufacturer’s charging time, as overcharging can reduce battery lifespan and performance.
  • Check Helmet, Safety Gear & Clothing Fit: Ensure your child’s helmet, gloves, and protective clothing fit snugly and comfortably. Ill-fitting gear can cause distractions or reduce protection during a fall.
  • Review the Riding Area: Inspect the track or riding zone for obstacles, wet patches, or steep terrain that could affect control. Choose smooth, open areas when possible, especially for beginner riders.
  • Ensure Adult Supervision: Children should never ride unsupervised. Having an adult present helps monitor speed, correct unsafe habits, and respond quickly in case of an emergency.

By making these pre-ride safety checks part of your routine, you’ll help your young rider build safe habits and confidence on every quad biking adventure.

10 Kid’s Quad Biking Safety Tips: Essential Rules for Young Riders

  1. Learn Slowly – Start at a low speed and increase gradually as your child gains confidence. Practice on flat, open ground before tackling off-road tracks or more challenging terrain. Using speed controls or a throttle restrictor can help manage acceleration safely.
  2. Always Ride with Supervision – Supervised riding significantly reduces the risk of quad bike incidents. Adult supervision ensures quick intervention if a problem arises and reinforces safe riding habits.
  3. Stay in Control – Encourage children to keep both hands on the handlebars and feet on the footrests at all times. Avoid sharp turns or excessive speeds that could compromise balance. Using safety equipment like gloves and a crush protection device can provide additional control and protection.
  4. Respect the Terrain – Teach your child to avoid wet, steep, or rocky areas that can increase the risk of slips or rollovers. Ensure they understand the importance of riding on safe, off-road-friendly terrain and staying within property boundaries or designated trails.
  5. No Passengers – Kids’ quad bikes are designed for a single rider. Extra weight affects braking systems, balance, and overall quad bike safety.
  6. Wear Appropriate Safety Gear – Always ensure your child is equipped with a DOT-approved helmet, gloves, goggles, long-sleeved shirts, trousers, elbow pads, knee pads, and body armour to protect against scrapes, bruises, or more serious injuries.
  7. Attend a Safety Course – Encourage your child to participate in a quad bike safety course or ATV safety training. Learning proper techniques, emergency handling, and safety rules helps build confidence and reduces the likelihood of accidents.
  8. Perform Pre-Ride Safety Checks – Check tyre pressure, brakes, suspension systems, and battery levels for electric quad bikes before every ride. Inspect for loose bolts, damage, or worn parts to ensure the quad is safe to operate.
  9. Follow Local Laws and Guidelines – Make sure rides comply with local laws regarding age limits, off-road use, and public roads. This ensures your child is riding legally and safely.

Promote Responsible Riding – Teach your child to respect wildlife, other riders, and private property. Encourage safe speeds, avoiding risky stunts or crowded areas.

After the Ride: Maintenance & Care

Post-ride maintenance not only keeps the quad in top condition but also teaches kids responsibility and reinforces safe riding habits:

  • Clean the Quad – Remove mud, dirt, and debris from the frame, wheels, and mechanical components to prevent wear and maintain performance.
  • Inspect for Loose or Worn Parts – Check bolts, brake pads, suspension systems, tyres, and safety features such as crush protection devices, ensuring everything is secure and functional.
  • Recharge Batteries Safely – For electric quad bikes, let the battery cool down before recharging. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and ensure the charging area is safe and well-ventilated.
  • Check Controls & Safety Devices – Test speed controls, cut-off switches, Throttle Restrictors, and braking systems to confirm they are working properly before the next ride.
  • Lubricate Moving Parts – Apply lubricant to the chain, suspension pivot points, or other mechanical components to keep the quad operating smoothly.
  • Tyre Pressure & Wheel Checks – Inspect tyre pressure, wheel alignment, and tread wear to ensure safe handling on future rides.
  • Storage & Protection – Store the quad in a dry, covered area to protect against weather damage, rust, and UV exposure. Covering electric quads can also extend battery life.
  • Document Maintenance – Encourage kids to keep a maintenance log. Tracking repairs, cleaning, and checks builds responsibility and helps parents monitor the quad’s condition.

Regular after-ride care not only extends the life of the quad but reinforces essential quad bike safety habits, ensuring each ride is as safe and enjoyable as possible.

Electric Balance Bike – Bridging the Gap from Balance Bike to Motorcycle

Children love to move around but getting the hang of riding a bike can be hard for little ones. There’s a lot to think about when it comes to steering, balancing, pedalling and braking. For decades and decades, the accepted way to learn to ride a bike has been to learn to pedal first, using a bike with stabilising wheels, before then removing them and learning to balance. This often leads to plenty of cuts and bruises.

In recent years, we’ve seen balance bikes become more popular. Using a balance bike, children can learn to balance first, before tackling pedals. This way of riding helps children to gain confidence and move on to a pedal bike much faster. With the introduction of the electric balance bike, kids can now transition from balance bike to motorbike with ease!

Balance Bike

Electric Balance Bike Benefits

We highly recommend getting your children on an e-balance bike from the age of two. They are a lot of fun to ride and give kids the opportunity to develop excellent balance and motor skills from a young age. With both feet on the ground, they can stand and feel safe, and then use their feet to push themselves along. With the knowledge that they can put their feet down at any time if they start to lose balance, kids can feel in control and develop confidence quickly.

As a child gains more confidence and momentum, they can stop sitting and walking along on their bike. With time, they will learn to push off with their feet and drift along freely, while choosing their speed and direction. Once they are used to this, they can take advantage of the special features of an electric balance bike.

Balance bike

With a 100w motor, E-balance bikes take the fun to the next level. Using simple automatic gears, kids can balance and cruise along without their feet having to touch the ground to keep the momentum going.

Electric balance bike

Our electric model balance bikes feature 2 speed modes of 5mph and 10mph. Depending on how confident the rider is, they can switch on to electric mode with a simple thumb throttle to accelerate to the speed that they are most comfortable at. In addition to this, they have a durable steel frame and disk brakes, and they are suitable for a wide range of terrains. Therefore, we believe that electric balance bikes are the perfect way to bridge the gap between the balance bike and their first dirt bike!

At only 10kg, our electric balance bikes can be transported around with ease and with 24v 5.2ah batteries that allow for longer run times, once your child is a confident rider, you can take them to any pump track around Birmingham to develop their riding skills. Before you know it, they’ll be MX superstars of the future!

Living Life on Four Wheels

Has your child grown out of their two-wheeled bike or scooter? If so, this new year is the perfect opportunity to switch them over to life on four wheels. As you will soon learn in this blog, this is a decision they will be thanking you for, for many years to come!

Vehicles with two and three wheels, such as Electric Scooters and Dirt Bikes, provide a great amount of thrill for kids. There’s no disputing that. However, due to their added power and increased stability, four-wheeled vehicles can offer a much more complete and enjoyable riding experience for children of all ages.

At Riders & Rollers, we have a wide range of four-wheeled vehicles for kids to choose from. So, to save you the effort of trawling through our vast collection, we’ve decided to supply you with our top picks.

Kids Quad Bikes

kid's quads

Our awesome range of kid’s quad bikes, which come in both petrol and electric powered models, are great for youngsters who love riding dirt bikes but are struggling with balance and bike control.

Both models are very durable, easy to ride and come in a variety of colours, ranging from black to pink, to suit boy and girl racers of any age.

The 49cc Petrol Kid’s Quad, which can reach a top speed of 18mph, uses a thumb throttle system to make it easier for children to control the power of the vehicle, whereas, the 36V Electric Kid’s Quad adopts a twist throttle system, as it has a slightly lower top speed of 15mph. Although they have different types of throttle, both models have throttle control features that allow the quad to be restricted by parents. This is particularly useful for families where children of different ages and abilities are going to be sharing the quad.

To give you even more peace of mind, our quads have responsive steering, which makes it much easier for riders to navigate around tight corners.

Kid’s Buggies

We also have an amazing collection of kid’s buggies, which are perfect for junior thrill-seekers who love to drive.

Just like our quads, they are sturdy, fast and can be purchased in black, blue or red.

Built for the fearless, our Riders & Rollers Kid’s Go Kart Buggies, which are available in petrol and electric powered models, can reach a remarkable top speed of 25mph.

However, even they are no match for the Mad Max 1000W Electric Buggy, which is quite simply a kid’s dream toy.

With an array of performance features, like race-style steering and plastic bucket seats, the Rocker Mad Max is a great off-road buggy for children aged 6-14.

For added safety, all of our buggies are fitted with solid steel frames and protective roll cages.

Ride-on Cars

ride on toys

Alternatively, if your child is too young for high-speed buggies and quads, you could look to treat them to one of our brilliant ride on cars.

Available in a variety of licensed models, including your quintessentially British Mini hatchback and a luxurious Ferrari supercar, they are a great introduction to life on four wheels for kids aged 3-7 years-old.

Introducing the HoverKart

The Christmas period is now upon us, which means it’s time to start preparing your list of presents before it’s too late.

If you’re a lover of speed, one thing that should be on your list is a HoverKart!

hoverkart white

What is a HoverKart?

You will be familiar with the two-wheeled, self-balancing scooters, commonly known as hoverboards and Swegways, which have risen to prominence over the last few years.

The impressive HoverKart adds a completely new dimension of fun to the standard hoverboard, as it can be transformed into a fully functioning go-kart with just a few simple steps.

How Do I Attach My HoverKart?

Firstly, you need to fix the special kart attachment to your hoverboard using the straps. This will provide you with the go-kart frame and seat.

If you decide that you just want to use the hoverboard, you can quickly remove the attachment by undoing the straps. Additionally, if you need to adjust the seating position of the kart, this can also be easily done with its adjustable frame.

Although the HoverKart is built for the thrill, it’s racing style seat also provides you with a comfortable ride and cushions any bumps that you come across. On top of this, there are two footrests on both sides of the front wheel, which means your feet are not just dangling and dragging along the floor.

The next step is to connect your handlebars to the board, which will allow you to control your speed and direction. The turning capabilities of the HoverKart are superb and the handles even allow you to perform wheelies!

How Fast Can I Go?

A HoverKart’s top speed is very much dependent on the top speed of the hoverboard that you use. Although, most hoverboards tend to have an average top speed of around 10mph.

The speed that you can achieve on a HoverKart is also influenced by your height, weight and driving style. However, you can travel a lot faster on a HoverKart as you don’t have to worry about balancing and staying on the board.

Our Special Offer!

If our introduction to the HoverKart hasn’t got you fully sold, our latest special offer will certainly take you a step closer to putting one on your Christmas list.

For a limited time only, we are giving away a free HoverKart to anyone who purchases a Mini Hatch ride-on toy!

winter dirt bike

Winter Advice for Dirt Bikes and Quad Bikes

Whilst some riders may retire their dirt bikes or quad bikes to the garage over winter, we know that the cold weather won’t stop most young daredevils. We believe that there’s no need to stop riding during the winter, however, winter biking does require a little more preparation to make sure riders stay safe and comfortable.

Here are our useful tips to keep young riders and their bikes protected during the winter.

Give your bike some extra care

While the weather is cooler, it’s important to keep up regular maintenance on kid’s dirt bikes and quad bikes, ensuring that they continue to operate correctly. A special consideration for petrol bikes is that it’s important to check that anti-freeze levels are kept up to ensure the engine keeps running.

When bikes or quads are not in use, we recommend keeping them covered over winter. Cold weather, and snow in particular, can lead to permanent damage to the bike, so make sure you have a tarpaulin with you if you are traveling with an off-road vehicle.

Don’t ride in extreme conditions

In especially snowy or icy conditions, we would recommend that you stay at home. Without winter spike tyres, dirt bikes lack the right traction to ride safely, so young riders should wait until more extreme weather conditions clear up before taking to the tracks.

Stay hydrated

It’s normal for us not to feel so thirsty in the cold weather but taking in plenty of fluids is very important when out riding in low temperatures. When layering up in winter riding gear, you will still sweat a lot, so you may not feel hot and bothered, dehydration can still set in quickly.

Invest in quality dirt biking gloves

To stay comfortable and safe on off-road bikes, regardless of whether they have 2 or 4 wheels, warm hands make all the difference. Cold numb hands can make it very difficult to stay under control on biking trails or rough terrain, so look for quality, thin gloves that will keep your hands warm and provide plenty of grip.

Whilst thicker gloves may seem to make more sense in cold weather, although they may keep your hands warm, it will probably feel like you are riding in boxing gloves.

Wear layers

In winter weather, you will want to keep your skin covered to prevent it getting chapped. Make sure to choose a high-quality motocross jacket with important features such as removable liners, pockets and vents, and a comfortable fit. Jackets with added padding around the shoulders, back and elbows are also a bonus. A good quality jacket helps to regulate your temperature.

Kid’s Dirt Bikes, Quad Bikes, Maintenance and More

If you need advice for looking after your kid’s dirt bike or quad bike over winter, you can visit Riders & Rollers, or call us on 0121 666 6434. How Dirt Bikes Can Benefit Your Health

Experienced dirt bike riders will tell you how much work goes into racing. Even as a beginner, riders will require strength and focus, which can be built through practice. Dirt bikes can be an enjoyable way to stay fit and healthy, while enjoying the fresh air.

You might be surprised how many ways dirt bike riding can benefit your health:

Heart Rate

Similarly, to jogging or simple exercises, an average ride on a dirt bike can increase your heart rate to the mid-130s. In comparison, a higher intensity ride can go up to the mid-150s. An increased heart rate during exercise can contribute to fat loss, weight loss and an improved stamina.

Strength

Dirt bikes take strength to manoeuvre from your leg muscles, quadriceps and hamstrings. In addition, to turn, lift and land dirt bikes it takes a lot of arm strength and precision. Over time you may notice increased strength from operating dirt bikes.

During accelerations up and down uneven hills, your muscles may also begin to tighten to maintain good balance. Over time this will improve, the more you ride.

Calorie Burning

Holding yourself onto fast moving dirt bikes, while enduring sharp turns, bumps and accelerating over hills uses a lot of muscle. You may feel a burn in your major muscle groups, including your legs, arm and core muscles.

Mind

Taking dirt bikes for a ride can help to activate the pre-frontal sections of your brain, as well as improve your cognitive functions. For those who ride more frequently, there is most definitely a difference in levels of brain stimulation, compared to those who don’t.

Riding dirt bikes can also be a big mood enhancer. While enjoying this thrilling experience, it can lead to the release of endorphins and dopamine. This helps to uplift our mood and consequently makes us feel happier.

Posture

Riders are encouraged to maintain their best posture to improve their riding performance. This can help with balance and control while on dirt bikes, but also becomes a healthy habit for you too.

Drift Away – Electric Drift Trike

Back in 2009, some inventive New Zealand-based thrill seekers started to add PVC sleeves to the rear tyres of their trikes, making for less friction and allowing the back end of the trike to drift as they navigate bends and corners. It didn’t take too long for dirt bikers and other extreme sports enthusiasts around the rest of the world to take up the sport of drift triking.

Whilst trike drifting on traditional trikes is a lot of fun, one of the limits of these three-wheelers is that they require steep hills or being towed by another vehicle in order to be able to drift effectively. Luckily, electrified drift trikes provide a solution, allowing for riders to reach ideal drifting speeds even on flat gradients.

Controlled drifting isn’t easy, so drifting down steep hills can be pretty dangerous. Electrified trikes allow for more controlled drifting at lower speeds for new riders, providing the same fun, but without the risks presented by hills.

Our Electric 900w Drift Trike

We are excited to supply a fantastic electric drift trike, featuring hub motors, bucket seat and twist throttle, allowing for fun and safe drifting and spinning. With a durable frame, hydraulic disk brakes and a maximum speed of 20mph, this trike is the perfect three-wheeler to introduce a beginner to the world of drift triking.

As is the case with all drift trikes, this electric model is equipped with PVC covers on the rear tyres, allowing the wheels to lose traction and drift around bends, providing a free and exciting ride. Powered by 2 450w hub motors, the trike gathers speed without the need for gravity to get it going and the hydraulic disk brakes help to control speed, but also the ability to perform stunts when drifting.

Our tips for drifting

It takes time to get to grips with drifting, but electric hub motors apply all torque to the rear wheels, making it easier to drift, even when travelling at low speeds. If the idea of drifting is new to you, the easiest way to look at it is that if you make a sharp enough turn, the low friction of the rear wheels will mean that they want to drift off on their own, so you must then counter steer the handle bars to control the drift of the trike. Simply put, make sure to turn your front wheels to match whichever way your rear wheels are drifting.

At Riders & Rollers, our trikes are available in black, blue and red. You can buy online today and we will be happy to offer technical support for assembly, as well as repair facilities if needed in the future. For more information, you can call us on 0121 666 6434.
