How Dirt Bikes Can Benefit Your Health

Experienced dirt bike riders will tell you how much work goes into racing. Even as a beginner, riders will require strength and focus, which can be built through practice. Dirt bikes can be an enjoyable way to stay fit and healthy, while enjoying the fresh air.

You might be surprised how many ways dirt bike riding can benefit your health:

Heart Rate

Similarly, to jogging or simple exercises, an average ride on a dirt bike can increase your heart rate to the mid-130s. In comparison, a higher intensity ride can go up to the mid-150s. An increased heart rate during exercise can contribute to fat loss, weight loss and an improved stamina.

Strength

Dirt bikes take strength to manoeuvre from your leg muscles, quadriceps and hamstrings. In addition, to turn, lift and land dirt bikes it takes a lot of arm strength and precision. Over time you may notice increased strength from operating dirt bikes.

During accelerations up and down uneven hills, your muscles may also begin to tighten to maintain good balance. Over time this will improve, the more you ride.

Calorie Burning

Holding yourself onto fast moving dirt bikes, while enduring sharp turns, bumps and accelerating over hills uses a lot of muscle. You may feel a burn in your major muscle groups, including your legs, arm and core muscles.

Mind

Taking dirt bikes for a ride can help to activate the pre-frontal sections of your brain, as well as improve your cognitive functions. For those who ride more frequently, there is most definitely a difference in levels of brain stimulation, compared to those who don’t.

Riding dirt bikes can also be a big mood enhancer. While enjoying this thrilling experience, it can lead to the release of endorphins and dopamine. This helps to uplift our mood and consequently makes us feel happier.

Posture

Riders are encouraged to maintain their best posture to improve their riding performance. This can help with balance and control while on dirt bikes, but also becomes a healthy habit for you too.

Electric Dirt Bikes are powered by Lithium Batteries, so they don’t release any of the smoke or emissions that engine operated 2-stroke bikes do. This means they are far more environmentally friendly and offer a cheaper fuelling option than petrol-powered alternatives.

Low maintenance

Because the engine and operating system for Electric Dirt Bikes are cleaner and more efficient than petrol-based systems, they are easier to maintain. This means that time spent cleaning and fixing your bike will be vastly reduced, allowing more opportunity to enjoy the riding experience!

Economic

The vastly reduced costs of fuelling and maintaining an electric dirt bike means that they are far more economic than petrol-powered bikes. This ensures lower running costs over the lifetime of the bike and makes for a cost-effective alternative to 2-stroke bikes without any loss in performance.

Engine Rebuilds

When engine failure occurs, in many cases, the piston takes most of the damage. Careful examination of this problem helps us to trace the source of the mechanical or tuning problems that caused the failure. Should you require an engine rebuild as a result of failure, please supply us with the complete engine as it helps us to diagnose the cause of the problem and take the appropriate action to prevent it from reoccurring.

There are several factors that can lead to a 2-stroke crank or the main bearings of an engine to fail. The most common cause is that there is too little oil in the pre-mix, along with bad seals or dirt passing through the air filter and down into the block. The crank bearings are lubricated by the oil in the pre-mix, so when your engine runs on too little, the crank, along with the piston and main bearings will fail.

For a charge of £30 packaging and posting, we provide a send and return service for engines. Please be sure to package your engine carefully as Riders & Rollers is not responsible for incoming damage. We suggest that as well as packaging your engine carefully, you should insure your parts for replacement value as damaged engines could cost hundreds of pounds to replace.
